Following a successful concert in November 2023 as part of our Christmas Tree Festival, we invited Rushden Town Band back to St Marys in order to kick-start our summer with a lunchtime concert.
Throughout the afternoon the Church was filled with light and music, from a medley of Bond music to solo pieces such as Evergreen. The band played to a busy church, with everyone enjoying a class of Pimms or Fruit Punch in-between the popular tunes.
The afternoon was made even more special when the band performed a special arrangement of The Old Rugged Cross composed for Rushden Town Band by well know composer Craig Stevens in memory of their late President David Groom. It was a very moving performance and a wonderful tribute.
