2025 marks 675 years since our present church building came into being.
Our Grade 1 listed building has been part of the community here in Finedon since 1350 holding weddings, baptisms, funerals and supporting the local community for many generations (and across the incumbency of 54 vicars).
In June 2025 we held a History Open Day with lots of archive material and objects on display, it was amazing to see how many local people turned out to explore the history of their parish church as well as exploring the building! We opened up the Monks Cell, Dolben Vault, Ringing Chamber and Organ Loft for people to tour around. The day ended with a Beer & Hymns event which was well attended.
In September, our annual flower festival was themed around “A Walk Through History” to tie into our anniversary celebrations with so many amazing displays! During the flower festival we launched a new range of Christmas Cards and Calendars featuring our church building.
And to wrap up our anniversary year we will finish off with our Christmas Tree Festival “Our Christmas Party” jam packed full of events! Ending festivities with a joyous celebration.
Our building wouldn’t be here today without the continual support of the residents of Finedon throughout the years. In this anniversary year we are asking for you to donate what you can to allow us to keep our building operational and allow it to grow to support the evolving needs of the community here in Finedon.
Whether you can assist with a one off donation of £6.75 (roughly the price of two takeaway coffees) or you are able to donate more, we couldn’t be more grateful! You can either donate through our Give a Little Page or using a one off donation on Parish Giving Scheme.
All donations will go to the Church general fund.
