2025 marks 675 years since our present church building came into being.
Our Grade 1 listed building has been part of the community here in Finedon since 1350 holding weddings, baptisms, funerals and supporting the local community for many generations (and across the incumbency of 54 vicars).
Throughout the year we will be holding a number of events which reflect on the last 675 years and really hope you will get involved! Our celebrations will culminate in a celebratory service during our Flower Festival weekend, on Sunday 14th September 2025.
To kick off this anniversary year we are inviting you to “share your story” whether it be photos of your wedding, a fond memory you have which took place in our building or at one of our events, a family story which has transcended and much more!
Perhaps ancestors were married here, celebrated other key life events with us, or have some cherishes memories friendships made here at St Mary’s. We want to hear from you!
We are hoping to pull together a photo gallery which will be published on our website of photos which represent your stories!
Email us with scanned or digital photos:
finedonchurchmagazine@gmail.com
or you can drop copies into Church or to 21 Tingdene Road which you are happy for us to share.
“Share your stories” runs until the end of March.
Our building wouldn’t be here today without the continual support of the residents of Finedon throughout the years. In this anniversary year we are asking for you to donate what you can to allow us to keep our building operational and allow it to grow to support the evolving needs of the community here in Finedon.
Whether you can assist with a one off donation of £6.75 (roughly the price of two takeaway coffees) or you are able to donate more, we couldn’t be more grateful! You can either donate through our Give a Little Page or using a one off donation on Parish Giving Scheme.
All donations will go to the Church general fund.
