This year during Advent we are reflecting on the JOY of Christmas, from Gabriel’s Message right through to the birth of Christ.
Why not take a break from the chaos of the Christmas season by visiting one of our many events throughout December and January. Whether you are looking for a calm moment of reflection or something to brighten your day we have a wide range of things taking place. Our celebration of Advent kicks off with our annual Christmas Tree Festival weekend, which will also play host to a Rushden Town Band Concert and Advent Carol service. Not to mention our new “Winter Glow” event.
Other events throughout the season include Christmas Coffee Morning, Chirstingle and much more!
The Christmas period gives you an opportunity to reset, relax and prepare for the coming year as we in the church begin a new liturgical year, commencing on the first Sunday of Advent (2nd Nov).
As well as celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, we at St Marys treat Advent as a period of reflection, praying for those no longer with us and the joy they brought to our lives. At midnight mass we will line the path to the porch with candles, each candle sponsored in memory of an absent friend or loved one.
Our doors are open to you this Christmas. We look forward to sharing this celebration with you.
