From the Children’s table in Church

The children are intrigued as to the source of coins they keep finding around the outside of the Church.

A few weeks ago they came across a pile of old pennies by the lytch gate. Last Sunday they thought they had located real treasure in the Church porch, coins predating 1971, half a crown, a shilling and a sixpence.

‘We need to keep these somewhere safe in the Church’, they said, ‘These look very valuable’

After an explanation they were disappointed but interested in learning about old money their grandparents used.

If anyone can solve the mystery of the appearance of the old coins the children would be delighted.
